Between 2011 and 2020, the local area’s population shot up by 64%, compared to an average of 12% in London and 6% nationally. This is just the start too. After the arrival of the Elizabeth line and the upcoming Silvertown tunnel, a striking new zig-zagging pedestrian and cycle bridge will provide quick, step-free access to Custom House station, millions more Londoners are within 15 minutes of Silvertown.
This increased connectivity has opened up all kinds of opportunities. As well as planned extensions to the ExCeL Centre and the DLR, there are a number of nearby mixed-use developments in the works. These include Mill Road, Royal Wharf, and Millet Place – all set to bring 40,000 new jobs and 30,000 new homes to the area.
